A Look at Matcha's Potential Health Benefits
It’s officially warm beverage season, so we are here to talk about matcha!

Matcha is a world-famous ground green tea powder that can be mixed with water to create a beverage that is quite popular. You see matcha utilized often in baking and cooking applications, for both its flavor and stunning green color.
But Is Matcha Good For Us?
On November 25, 2024, Harvard Health Publishing released a brief summary article looking at the potential health benefits of matcha.
With regards to potential health benefits, author Christina Frank mentions that matcha contains antioxidants and polyphenols, which can help lower problematic LDL cholesterol levels, and also improve our bodies’ sensitivity to insulin.
Frank also notes that matcha contains an amino acid called L-theanine that helps our minds stay more alert and focused, which I expected to be something associated with caffeine.
In terms of caffeine content, matcha traditionally contains a bit more caffeine per serving than green tea, and less than traditional coffee.
