Yogurt to Boost Skeletal Health!

Have you noticed how popular Greek yogurt has become lately? Well, there's a good reason for that.

A 2023 article discussed the benefits that yogurt has on health, including a look at how yogurt might improve bone health.

The probiotics in yogurt might actually help maintain skeletal health due to the potential anti-inflammatory effects of the beneficial gut bacteria. Especially for individuals who are trying to lose weight, maintaining healthy bone density remains critical!

Thereā€™s no easy way to say it, diarrhea is the worst! Well, get this - eating fermented foods like yogurt and kimchi might actually help reduce the severity and duration of diarrhea.

I just read about a study in the Nutrition and Health journal where the researchers said: "Evidence suggests that consumption of fermented foods may help reduce duration and severity of symptoms as a treatment of [diarrhea]."

So, next time you get that ā€˜feelingā€™, it looks promising that loading up on tasty fermented foods could help provide some relief when your stomach is out of whack.

Perfectly-Steamed, Simple Asparagus:

Pro Tips for perfectly-steamed asparagus:

  1. When dealing with asparagus in a fine dining restaurant, the ends of asparagus are often cut off, and the stalks are trimmed down with a vegetable peeler before cooking. This may not be necessary if you have younger, thinner asparagus.

  1. The amount of time you spend cooking your asparagus will depend on the exact thickness of the stalksā€”remove the asparagus when they are still bright green, right before they are completely tender, while they still have a notable crunch to them. The asparagus stalks will continue to cook slightly after they are removed from the heat.

  1. Avoid adding acidic ingredients to asparagus before or during the cooking process, as this will force the bright color to fade into an unappetizing, dull shade of green. If adding acid to cooked asparagus, add it right before serving, or serve the cooked asparagus with a wedge of lime or lemon on the side for guests to add right before eating.
